The University receives furniture from On Campus, the MTC, and Student Housing that can be re-sold or put back on campus.
Select used furniture is made available to go back out onto campus, that furniture is called USED FURNITURE. This is a resource for faculty, staff, and employees of BYU for On Campus use only. It is strongly encouraged that someone comes to inspect these pieces of furniture before requesting them because the building is billed for every delivery/pickup.
The other used furniture is made available to the general public, that furniture is called SURPLUS. Items will not be shown online, but the public is encouraged to go to the Surplus Sale, usually held on the third or fourth Thursday of every month from 4pm-6pm.
Sometimes furniture is delivered to us in bulk, that furniture will be posted under SURPLUS because it is available to the general public. It will be labelled as ITEMS IN LARGE QUANTITIES. These items will be posted here as they come in. We have no knowledge when will will receive more items in bulk, so please check this website regularly.
