New Virtual Numbers

Public Virtual Line Numbers

Starting this sale, we will start using virtual line numbers! Please note the following two times! A QR code of queue number claim link will be posted outside our office, at 7:00AM for those who have lined up in the morning. At 7:30 AM the link will be sent out via email where anyone can claim a spot in the queue for that sale. This number will be the order that you will line up in the general public line and be admitted into the sale.

BYU Faculty/Employee Virtual Line Numbers

Like previous sales, bring your BYU ID with you into our office any time after 7:00AM and before 3:30PM, so we can verify your BYU position. Upon verification we will help you claim a virtual faculty/employee queue number. This number will be the order that you will line up in the employee line and admitted into the sale. In the future, we are hoping to provide future service that are more virtual where you do not need to verify your BYU employment in our office.

Faculty with and without numbers will be admitted into the sale before the general public. Each number admits only one adult.

What is a Sale?

Surplus Sales are a joint effort between BYU OIT Surplus and BYU Moving to make surplus items available to purchase from 4-6 PM. During the monthly surplus sale, many items not normally available can be purchased. You can check here or on the home page for the exact date of each sale.

We accept all general forms of payment including cash, credit, debit, and check.

2.

Surplus sales function on a first-come-first-served basis. However, occasionally quantity caps will be placed on certain items in high demand.

3.

Purchased items must be picked up within three business days of the sale, or they will be relisted for sale.

4.

Items are sold AS IS. No returns or refunds after purchase. Pick-up ONLY, no deliveries.

5.

Please be kind and considerate to your fellow customers. Don't run, shove, or fight over items. Respect each other's space and carts.

All items sold by Brigham Young University Surplus are sold AS IS and may or may not have been tested. Items will be tested if possible upon request at the time of purchase and pick up. All sales are final at the time of purchase. No returns or refunds after purchase.

All items listed are for Pick-Up ONLY; no deliveries. All payments made by cash or check must be made in person. Exchanges are allowed for similar items (where applicable) only before time of purchase. We reserve the right to refuse service. Prices are subject to change.

Please line up according to your number. We hand out numbers between 7:15 am and 3:00 pm in our front office, found on the east side of the building. Numbers are handed out as a courtesy to our customers and to promote the spirit of fairness. Numbers allow our customers to wait at home, instead of in line all day. We also hand out numbers in the hope that it will prevent cutting or jumping in line. Each number admits only one person. Friends and family must obtain their own numbers or wait at the end of the line. Please be considerate of others.

Purchased items must be picked up within three business days of the sale, or they will be relisted for sale. Items can be picked up any time M-F during regular office hours until 30 minutes before closing. For detailed current office hours please see our home page. No pickups are allowed on Saturday.

Please Note: While staff are not available to load items, dollies and carts may be available for use in loading during listed open hours. Doors automatically lock at 6:00 pm, and we are not authorized to unlock them. Please take this into consideration when planning your pickup.

Purchased computers may or may not match the specifications listed online. Due to the nature of surplus, our computers vary in their specs. While we cannot guarantee specifications will be identical to those listed online, each item is clearly labeled with their corresponding specs. Our best computers will be sold on a “first-come, first-served” basis.

There have been some questions regarding the availability of high-volume purchasing of certain surplus items. For the most part, we have found that this rarely becomes a serious issue. However, to be fair to individuals who wait in lines, we will limit some items when applicable. These will usually be specialty items, and details will be given in the email sent out before the sale.

Please only set aside items you intend to purchase on your cart. Please be considerate to others and make decisions promptly to give everyone the chance to participate in the sale. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

If at any time during the sale you have a question or concern, please direct them to any nearby employee. Employees will be wearing yellow vests and hats to make them more visible.
